How do you burn audio files to play on a cdplayer

In order to play audio files like MP3s on a cd player, do they have to be in wav format before I burn them.  If so what can I use to converts these files.  Thanks

Yes, you need to convert your MP3's to WAV files before burning them onto an Audio CD. You also need to tell the CD creator program that you're making an Audio CD and not an ISO-9660 CD-ROM.

You can find a lot of MP3 encoders/decoders on Winsite at http://www.winsite.com or on Download.com at http://www.download.com

Just search for "MP3 decoder" and you'll get a listing of files. The choice is fairly large so I guess you should find the one that best fits your needs.
Winamp will do this for you also.
Download winamp from http://www.winamp.com
In winamp options -> preferences -> plug-ins -> output and then choose disk writer plugin. This will decode mp3s into wav files.
