Folder not replicating

Hi,

Folders that have been created on Local (in Island mode) don't replicated to the server in the regular replica, but only when I change the replication settings everytime(the date or the direction)
anyone ?

Thanks.

"The solutions and answers provided on Experts Exchange have been extremely helpful to me over the last few years. I wear a lot of hats - Developer, Database Administrator, Help Desk, etc., so I know a lot of things but not a lot about one thing. Experts Exchange gives me answers from people who do know a lot about one thing, in a easy to use platform." -Todd S.

Check the Replication Settings, in Advanced tab look whether Replicate Incoming "Forms,Views,Etc." is checked ON.

Good Luck

Are the folders grey instead of yellow?  If they are grey they are private folders, and that might be why you are having these problems.  Try creating the folders in office mode ( which should show up yellow ) and then replicate them locally.  Private/Public folders are determined by the servername and mail file fields in your location document.

Hope this helps out

Title: Folders in R4 Do Not Replicate Back to Server Copy for Editor ACL Access or Below

Product Area: Notes

Product: Notes Client 4.6, Notes Client 4.5.3, Notes Client 4.5.2, Notes Client 4.51, Notes Client 4.5, Notes 4.1x, Notes 4.0

Topic: Workstation/Desktop \\ Notes Client Functionality \\ Replication

Number: 158409
Date: 04/19/98

Problem:

In the Access Control List (ACL) for your Notes R4 mail file, you have Editor access with the ability to create shared folders and views; your mail server has Manager access with the User Type set to "Unspecified." You create new folders on a local replica of your mail file, and then notice that these folders do not replicate back to the server copy of the mail file.

However, when you create new folders on the server copy of the mail file, these folders replicate to the local replica on the workstation.

Here is a matrix on how the replication is affected by the ACL Access level.
User Access Editor or Below/Server Access Manager User Access Designer or Above/Server Access Manager
All folders - REPLICATE from server to client. All folders - REPLICATE from server to client.

Private folders - REPLICATE from server to client, but only user.id can see them and access them. Private folders - REPLICATE from server to client, but only user.id can see them and access them.
Shared folders - DO NOT replicate from client to server Shared folders - REPLICATE from client to server.
Shared Personal on First Use - REPLICATE from client to server Shared Personal on First Use - REPLICATE from client to server.
Shared Personal on First Use & Stored on Desktop - DO NOT replicate from client to server. Shared Personal on First Use & Stored on Desktop - REPLICATE from client to server

Solution:

This issue was reported to Lotus Quality Engineering and was resolved in Notes 4.5.4 .

SPR# SCHD3G2QBD - Correctly replicate Shared folders and Shared, Personal on First Use, folders from client to server when the user has Editor or below access to the database.

A workaround in versions prior to 4.5.4 is to upgrade your ACL access to Designer or above; new folders created on the local replica of the mail file will then replicate to the server properly.
