Want a cookie

What will happen if I delete all the cookie files in MSIE 4.5?  Also is there a cache file for the computer as there is in MSIE 4.5, and can it be deleted.

"The solutions and answers provided on Experts Exchange have been extremely helpful to me over the last few years. I wear a lot of hats - Developer, Database Administrator, Help Desk, etc., so I know a lot of things but not a lot about one thing. Experts Exchange gives me answers from people who do know a lot about one thing, in a easy to use platform." -Todd S.

1. Cookie files regardless of PC or MAC are used to hold your preferences for a particular web site. If you delete these files the next time you visit a web site that uses cookies, it will create a new file. At some web sites you may have to fill out a form or something like that to "re-create" your preferences.

2. The default location for MS Internet Explorer cache file is in a folder called "MS Internet Cache" in your "Preferences" folder. The easiest way to "clean" out this file is to open up your Internet Explorer preferences, choose the "Advanced" section and click the button labeled "Empty Now'.

Then the only problem will be to fill out forms again, and that there will be no problem that will affect the computer
