Can't connect to @home

I can't connect to the intenet. my internet provider is my cable vision company. I collect all the information from windows 98 (winipcfg) but I don't know where to enter the information when i'm in Linux.
Can anybody help?

btw, you do that using the command "netconf" Then going into "basic host info" / Adaptor 1 / DHCP

(im assuming you are using Redhat or mandrake (or any of its many derivates) here, if not, tell me which distro you are running)
