pci modems in linux

can anybody tell me if pci modems will work at all under linux?  i have a 56k us robotics fax pci modem, and i can't get it to work.  any help will be greatly appreciated.

There are some PCI modems that will work, they are all based on the Lucent Venus chipset.

The USR PCI modems are not supported tho.

the info is valid regardless of which distro of linux you run.
