These are the points for the following question.  Let me know if I did this wrong so it can be corrected:

I recently upgraded to Win98SE from Win98.  I find that whenever I leave my computer on for a long time, the screen will go blank and the computer freezes completely.  My only option is to turn off power and then turn it back on.  Ctrl-Alt-Del doesn't work.  I've never been in the room when it happens.  My screensaver seems to be working and I've changed it to see if that's the problem.

"The solutions and answers provided on Experts Exchange have been extremely helpful to me over the last few years. I wear a lot of hats - Developer, Database Administrator, Help Desk, etc., so I know a lot of things but not a lot about one thing. Experts Exchange gives me answers from people who do know a lot about one thing, in a easy to use platform." -Todd S.

It sounds like enersave mode is kicking in. Try hitting caplock or num lock and see if the light comes on/off on the keyboard. This will indicate if the PC is lockedup. Next try turning the monitor off/on and see if that restores the video.
Thank you Gina.
