Network Info for Codewarrior in 7.5

I have 8 Mac Classics, and what I want to do, just as a project of mine, is connect them all to my PowerBase 240 or my Linux box and have the powerful computer send out RC5 packets to all the Classics, which they would check and then send back to the major computer.

What I'm looking for is information about programming Appletalk on System 7.5.  I'm looking for web sites, docs, or books (especially books) about programming Appletalk, system calls to Appletalk etc.  Any good information would be extremely helpful.

"The solutions and answers provided on Experts Exchange have been extremely helpful to me over the last few years. I wear a lot of hats - Developer, Database Administrator, Help Desk, etc., so I know a lot of things but not a lot about one thing. Experts Exchange gives me answers from people who do know a lot about one thing, in a easy to use platform." -Todd S.

First, what you're trying to do has already been done, the rc5 proxy servers are available for Win95 and linux, but not MacOS, at <>.

But, given that you want to do it yourself as an exercise, the docs you are looking for would include the Open Transport docs at <>, the appletalk docs at <>.

You probably also want to look at some of the sample code at <>

Note that the distributed net folks have withheld part of the source to prevent someone falsely reporting the solution - don't know if you'll be able to do what you want or not.  Their released source is at <>
