Back up of Outlook 97 contacts, tasks, & Appts

I am using Outlook 97 with personal files (not a server config.).  I would like to back up my current outlook data, particularly Contacts, Calendar, and Tasks.  Will I capture all current information above if I simply backup Outlook.pst?  Or is there another method I should use, Please advise!

Thanks, Victornc

"The solutions and answers provided on Experts Exchange have been extremely helpful to me over the last few years. I wear a lot of hats - Developer, Database Administrator, Help Desk, etc., so I know a lot of things but not a lot about one thing. Experts Exchange gives me answers from people who do know a lot about one thing, in a easy to use platform." -Todd S.

Search for all *.pst files, you might find, for example, an archive. You probably also want to backup your*.pab (personal address book) files.

A better way would be to export everything you want to a file.  You can be selective that way (leave out deleted items, sent items, etc, if you want to).

To do this, go to File, Import/Export, Export and follow the instructions.

Jimrussell-  I did as you suggested.  I have archive.pst and outlook.pst added to my backup job.  Didn't have any *.pab files after searching.  But I think all the critical data is in the Outlook.pst file.   This data will also be a backup for Contacts, Calendar, and Task data for my handheld pc (Windows CE) - philips NINO.  THANKS!
