Converting private folders to public in mail

I have a mailbox that is shared.  The first users created folders in this mailbox as private folders.  As a result the second users which access the same mail file from another PC cannot see these folders.  How can I convert them to public folders so all the users can see them??
1 Solution
Right click the folder, select "Design Folder," right click again in the design window to bring up the menu palette, and click on the Security (key) tab.  What are the settings?  The solution could be as simple as a property or ACL change.  I don't believe Notes "privatizes" folders the same way it does agents and views.
I believe you have to create a new public folder and copy the documents from the private folder to the public folder.
What is the Notes Version that ur using?

Yes if its accessed on another machine it will defintely not show, coz its private and hence its stored on the local PC's desktop file or db.  u will have to recreate the folder as shared as said above, and the fastest way to do this is to click on advanced while creating it, and choose to inherit the design of the private one.  Ofcourse u have to do this while u r using the first user's PC or the folder will not show in the list of folders to inherit from.  Ofcourse u can always copy the desktop.dsk file to the other PC but this is noot good, right?:)
As stated by ghassan99, you need to create a new folder and inherit the design from the private folder.

The latest releases of R4.6 do not allow private folders to be created in mail databases.  I'm not sure which release this starts at, but try upgrading to 4.6.5.
