Given -

Toshiba Tecra 720 laptop w/W95 and
 ancient BIOS (5.6)

  BIOS Upgrade module from Toshiba
 website (t720v590.exe), circa 1997

Question -

How do I toggle BIOS modules to

You must boot into MSDOS mode and not try to run this in a DOS box under Win9x.  Reset the computer and either boot from an MSDOS floppy disk or press the F8 key at the "Starting Windows 95" message after the BIOS test.  Then choose "Safe Mode Command Prompt".  At this point, you can run the BIOS update installer.
