Start menu configuration

When programs are added they always appear at the bottom of the start menu dispite arranging icons by type, name or size through "Customize Start Menu". Any way to fix this?

"The solutions and answers provided on Experts Exchange have been extremely helpful to me over the last few years. I wear a lot of hats - Developer, Database Administrator, Help Desk, etc., so I know a lot of things but not a lot about one thing. Experts Exchange gives me answers from people who do know a lot about one thing, in a easy to use platform." -Todd S.

Open the Registry Editor backup your registry and look for  HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\ Windows\CurrentVersion\Explorer\MenuOrder\Start Menu\Menu. In the right pane, delete the "Order" item, Save, Close and reboot.

Once the program has been added and is in the programs menu (list), just right click on the program list and choose sort be name. That's it!

Thanks dew! That worked. I can't believe I never noticed that before! :]
