How can I use TTreeView to not only display a directory structure like Explorer does, but also I wan't to be able to specify a root folder.

I've got a component that displays directory structures, but it doesn't allow me to specify a root.
The component is TDirTree.

Please Help.

go here:

select "my betas"

and get the System Control Pack ,
to install it in delphi ,unzip the files and in delphi select component install ,browse and select systemcontrolpackreg.pas ,
type a name for package ,click ok.
with the treeview you can select one of the shellfolders (control panel ,favorites etc)as root or make a ffcustom root folder to have as root.

I have a problem,  When I try to install the components, I get this error message:
Fatal error: (0): Required package ree.dpk not found.
mmm.. strange i just installed about 10 mins before typing them here and went fine.there is no unit in these that uses a ree.dpk so all i can suggest is to try again using a different name for your package than you usd last time.
have you ever saved a package as ree.dpk?
you could try removing units from the install unit until the error goes away.

open the package you made when installing and check but it should only contain systemcontrolreg.pas and may requires browser.dcp and vcl40.dcp.
