"The solutions and answers provided on Experts Exchange have been extremely helpful to me over the last few years. I wear a lot of hats - Developer, Database Administrator, Help Desk, etc., so I know a lot of things but not a lot about one thing. Experts Exchange gives me answers from people who do know a lot about one thing, in a easy to use platform." -Todd S.

More than likely, your base memory addressing is not set properly. Click START > PROGRAMS > MSDOS PROMPT. t the c:\ prompt, type MEM and hit enter. You will want to examine your total conventional memory (follow the row CONVENTIONAL and the collumn TOTAL till they meet). If it is less than 640k, you need to talk to your PC manufacturer.

Also check the LARGEST EXECUTIBLE PROGRAM SIZE. It should be a minimum of 575k. if it is less than that, talk to your PC manufacturer.

You might also want to close all programs, your system resources may be down. Click START > RUN > type MSCONFIG > click OK > click the STARTUP tab > remove the checkmarks from everything except SYSTRAY (system tray) and SCANREG (scan registry). Then click OK > click YES when it promts you to restart. Then rerun the installation.

Good Luck!

You were right, the total conventional memory is only 632K, and the Largest executible program size is 564K.  I guess I need to contact Dell.  Thanks for the help Tex2000!!!
