"The solutions and answers provided on Experts Exchange have been extremely helpful to me over the last few years. I wear a lot of hats - Developer, Database Administrator, Help Desk, etc., so I know a lot of things but not a lot about one thing. Experts Exchange gives me answers from people who do know a lot about one thing, in a easy to use platform." -Todd S.

mik2okc,

I am not sure about buying the disk, but where is your win 95 CD??  This is what u should use.  And if you don't have the CD, then please try and tell me the files that are suppose to be on the Disk 2 of the win 95 install series.  Maybe I could give them to you.

I would love to tell you the files that are on the disk, but the problem is that my drive won't read that disk.  I don't have the cd my system cam with the diskette set.  there are 14 disks total.  It is an easy way to load the 95 system but i need the second disk to load 95.  how would i go about getting the file info on that disk.   Thanks

You can contact Microsoft and get a replacement for a nominal fee if you have a license.  Of course, I'd go out and spend the money on a CDROM version myself.  The time you save over a floppy install will be work the extra cost.

If you have an associate with a Win95 CDROM OF THE EXACT VERSION, you can copy the cab file from it to your floppy and get through the installation.  The problem is that there are MANY different distributions of Win95 and finding an exact match can be hard.

Oh, one more point.  Remember, the floppies or CDROM for Win95 is _NOT_ the license to use it.  If you have a license certificate you can legally install someone elses copy of Win95 and use it.  Just hang on to the license.

Walking,

What files are on disk 1.  And also to Walking and mik2okc, as jhance said, what exact version do you have.  Win95 original, A, B, C??  Without knowing this information, there is no way for me to help either of you.  I have version A and C.  So I can possibly help u get the files u need if u tell me which version u have.
