Connection made but Netscape will not resolv

I just installed Mandrake 6.5 and am trying to connect to my ISP.  I make the connection fine but netscape will not resolve anything.   I edited the /etc/resolv.conf file, the /etc/host.conf file, used kppp, and edited /etc/nsswitch.  Any further guidance would be much appreciated!!!

I wear a lot of hats - Developer, Database Administrator, Help Desk, etc., so I know a lot of things but not a lot about one thing. Experts Exchange gives me answers from people who do know a lot about one thing, in a easy to use platform." -Todd S.

run the command:

nslookup

from a shell prompt.  When prompted, enter a valid url such as www.experts-exchange.com and see if it resolves to an ip address.  If not, you still have DNS setup problems.  If it does, it is a Netscape problem.
