Dos Prompt

I just purchased an e-machine. However, I am forced to type "win" from a dos prompt in order to get into Windows. Is there any way I can set my machine so that it will go right into Windows?

I wear a lot of hats - Developer, Database Administrator, Help Desk, etc., so I know a lot of things but not a lot about one thing. Experts Exchange gives me answers from people who do know a lot about one thing, in a easy to use platform." -Todd S.

I'm sorry...can you provide me with a step-by-step method of doing that?

Sure. When your computer starts up and you get that C:\, type:
edit c:\autoexec.bat
A DOS text editor will come up. In the DOS editor, type:

@echo off

What "@echo off" does is not display any dos  commands, that line might be there in the autoexec.bat already. If it is, ignore that line.
And. the last line will boot up Windows on startup.
Ignore any other command in autoexec. If you remove any other lines some devices or programs may not start up which you might need.
In your c:\msdos.sys file,the
section [options] shoud be:
