Attachment Problem

Hi All,

I am facing an unusual problem with attachment. we are using Lotus Domino 4.6.2 and same version clients. Recently we have started facing problem with the attachment i.e. when sending any mail when the user click on Attach button, no action takes place and even it does not give any error MESSAGE NOR DOES IT ALLOW YOU TO ATTACH FILE.

PLEASE HELP

Is the cursor in the Body field?

Yes the cursor position is correct. It is in the body field.

Hi,
1. Unless the field is of richtext type you will not be able to attach any file to it. I suggest you check the field type. If it is a custom made application  then try deleting the field and recreating it again.
2. If the problem is occuring while creating a memo in the inbox then the mail template may be corrupt. Try replacing or refreshing the design of the template.

I have checked all the settings and even replaced the template but of no help

Where did you replace the template from?
I suggest you get the mail46 template from the internet or the original installation disk and replace the one on the server.  Immediately go to Replication Settings and under "Other" select "disable replication".  Now replace someone's template with this new "clean" template and see what happens.  

If the template has gone corrupt anywhere in your domain, the corrupt version could be replicating over any new non-corrupt replicas you have as fast as you can test them.  That's why it's important to disable replication on your templates.

I was just in the Lotus Tech Support site and found the following article:

If you search by this document number you should find it.  In a nutshell it blames a new DLL installed by (I think) Internet Explorer, so it may be worth checking out.
