Registering EXPSRV.DLL

Hello
An error occurs when I´m instaling the program I've made.
I'm using Win95.
I've already upgraded the file in the Windows\system directory.
What can this be?

Thanks

I wear a lot of hats - Developer, Database Administrator, Help Desk, etc., so I know a lot of things but not a lot about one thing. Experts Exchange gives me answers from people who do know a lot about one thing, in a easy to use platform." -Todd S.

You can try the following.

Locate this file - 'regsvr32.exe' ...and include it in your installation list. After copying your program-files, try running the following from code:

regsvr.exe Path\NameOfDll
That may register your dll file.

If it doesn't, you can get more information on registering dlls at http://www.vbaccelerator.com

See this URL (There is a way to correct it): http://support.microsoft.com/support/kb/articles/Q236/2/81.ASP?LNG=ENG&SA=ALLKB

This is a normal error if you didn't upgrade to SP3.

When some of the files which are required to register the dll are not present, windows gives error. Please findout what are all the files required before registering this dll. Then try Regsvr32. It should work.

If you want the user to ber able to register the file themselves just import this .reg file into their registry....

;Begin

REGEDIT4

;  This adds the ability to Right-Click on a .dll or .ocx
;  and get the Register / UnRegister options.
;

; ==========
; .DLL files
; ==========

[HKEY_CLASSES_ROOT\.dll]
"Content Type"="application/x-msdownload"
@="dllfile"

[HKEY_CLASSES_ROOT\dllfile]
@="Application Extension"

[HKEY_CLASSES_ROOT\dllfile\Shell\Register\command]
@="regsvr32.exe \"%1\""

[HKEY_CLASSES_ROOT\dllfile\Shell\UnRegister\command]
@="regsvr32.exe /u \"%1\""

; ==========
; .OCX files
; ==========

[HKEY_CLASSES_ROOT\.ocx]
@="ocxfile"

[HKEY_CLASSES_ROOT\ocxfile]
@="OCX"

[HKEY_CLASSES_ROOT\ocxfile\Shell\Register\command]
@="regsvr32.exe \"%1\""

[HKEY_CLASSES_ROOT\ocxfile\Shell\UnRegister\command]
@="regsvr32.exe /u \"%1\""

; End

Hope that helps
