"The solutions and answers provided on Experts Exchange have been extremely helpful to me over the last few years. I wear a lot of hats - Developer, Database Administrator, Help Desk, etc., so I know a lot of things but not a lot about one thing. Experts Exchange gives me answers from people who do know a lot about one thing, in a easy to use platform." -Todd S.

for server see the man pages for socket in linux. create a socket , then bind that socket (see bind man pages) then put the server in the listenning mode (see listen man pages) then wait for the client to login to server(see accept man pages) .
for client side do the following steps.
          -create a socket
          -connect to server
          - use write or send for sending the user name
-wait for server response(use recv routine)
