Being a graphic designer is a great way to allow yourself to be creative. Designing is the ultimate representation of your style and your interpretation of life around you.

For beginners, I suggest you look into books that pertain to graphic design and learn what it is about. Magazines like Communication Arts, ID, and Graphis, are publications that show the most fascinating up-to-date designs.

Graphic designers have a wide field to work in, ranging from music (designing CD covers) to advertising (posters, magazine ads) to packaging (candy wrappers, book covers)to fashion (t-shirts, bags). ANYTHING you can think of there is a designer behind it.

As for learning the trade, I would suggest to start off by taking some simple design classes as well as some comupter classes to help you learn the programs you need. Take classes like 2D and 3D, life drawing, typography, color theory, photography. These classes will help you see new ways of interpreting ideas.

Most professional designers use programs like Photoshop, Quark, Illustrator, Corel Draw, Powerpoint and Freehand. With these programs you learn to retouch colors and images, design type, and have a sense of what designers do. You might also want to look into take web design classes as well as many graphic designers are branching out into that field.

Either way, the best point I've learned is to keep an eye out for interesting designs that you come across and start collecting things (postcards, business cards, stickers, catalogs, magazine ads, etc) you like for reference. It's always a good idea to examine what other designers have done and find what you like and don't like about it and why. You'll also learn the difference between good and bad designs.

Once you take your classes and get a sense of the tremendous possibilities in this industry, you can either go for an internship, find an entry level position at a design studio or ad agency, or you can go freelance. Do a search on the web and you will come up with a lot of listings for jobs in the design field.

All in all, graphic design is a truly exciting field to be in that gives you a great amount of freedom to express yourself. I reccommend it to those who have a desire to be creative.

I recommend sites such as www.graphic-design.com and www.desktoppublishing.com which gives you good resources, books, and tips on design. I'm not sure what you mean by visualization but the two web sites I gave you should make for a good start.

If you're talking about coming up with an idea, I find what works for me and my designer friends the best is to get a pad and carry it along with you. Whenever you get an idea, you can sketch it down, and then refine it later.

So sorry. Miss Fubabee.

Now, I dont  have even an  hour leisure  to spend for learning. B'coz my office timing is 8:00 am to 11:00 pm. Yes really. I can't do anything, b'coz I am working in a foreign country. My work contract will close only after six (may be nine months) . Now the only way is browsing the internet. thats also  only half-an-hour granted.

Any way  thank you. I will surf  the web sites which you have given.  Notice that I am not a art college student, Just I have some little knowledge about it. So I dont know to mention it whether 'Visualization' or 'Graphic Designing'

After  that  If any doubts  arise, I  will contact you
