Does anyone know what this message means?  Is it something we are doing wrong, can be fixed?  We are running Windows 98.

Possibly caused by another program running in the back ground, such as an antivirus program. Try closing all programs except for Explorer using Ctrl+Akt+Del and run the game again.

Thanks - will give that a try next time he plays it.
If the game is Bought i don't think the problem is there. But if your games is pirated you know, cutted some videos for smaller size it may be the problem!

I had the problem with Fifa 99 pirated version.
I'm sure this is not a pirated version - it was purchased at a toy store.
perhaps it is not able to free up memory.

try unistalling the game from the control panel (you might lose saved games)

then reinstall game without any anti virus software running.

I assume you were ewxiting the game using the game's control.
Try to use win98 - [system file checker] to see any file on your system have crash. If so, restore it from installation cd
I received help from  Hasbro - so far so good.  Thanks everyone.
The error occurred again.  I've tried Ctl+Alt+Del to all open files and that didn't worked.  I ran system file checker and the kernel32.dll file didn't come up - others did - about 15 or so.  I ignored all because they were all in c:\windows\system and I have no idea what files they run with.  We have to change the display to 256 colors before running the program.  Wonder if that has anything to do with it?
