Modem connection

Why would my modem disconnect while I am still using the internet?  This happens at least once every two hours.  I've tried adjusting my idle time, but this doesn't seem to help.  The longer I am on the more it cuts off.

Have you checked with your Internet service provider to make sure the problem is not at there end?

When I contacted my ISP they suggested adjusting my idle controller for the modem and I did it did not correct the problem.
If you are in chat rooms It does not detect this as internet activity. Go to your mail program and set it check for new mail every xxx minutes. This will trigger internet activity and est any timers that are kicking you off.
Does your telephone-line have "call-waiting" alerting?  Is it enabled/disabled?
