How is this possible??? Author access...

I've created a database with a default access set to Author. Users can created documents, but they can't edit their documents... There is no Author field in the form. How is this possible???

I wear a lot of hats...

"The solutions and answers provided on Experts Exchange have been extremely helpful to me over the last few years. I wear a lot of hats - Developer, Database Administrator, Help Desk, etc., so I know a lot of things but not a lot about one thing. Experts Exchange gives me answers from people who do know a lot about one thing, in a easy to use platform." -Todd S.

You *must* have an Authors field on your form, otherwise it is impossible for someone with author access to even edit their own documents, as you've discovered.

Excerpt from the helpfile from Notes:
"To allow users with Author access to edit the documents they create, add an Authors field to a form."

So there you have it! Just put @UserName in the fields' value, and it'll work.

Good luck,
