Upgrade DNS addresses

My DNS is solving some address but some other not.
we need to know the most common causes of this problem.

Where can I find an upgrade version of my named.ca  file.?

Would be nice to know some examples of names it does and doesnt resolve.

This could be either your DNS server being configured with incorrect rootserver entries (named.ca) or the client being configured incorrectly (/etc/resolv.conf).

what would nslookup return if you'd type:

set type=NS
..

(This would list all root (.)  nameservers (NS) )

If this doesnt show root nameserver, your named.ca file is incorrect. Alternatively, your resolv.conf could be wrong. What's in it anyway?
