IPC for red hat 6.0 settings

I am looking for a way to change 'magmax' for IPC without
using the command msgctl cause i am not a super user
and can't log in as the 'root' user...

Currently the magmax is default size of 4Kb and i want
to send messages a lot bigger.... and yes i want to do
it via message queues in ipc and not anything else cause
that is what my assignment requires

is there any way i can do this??

"The solutions and answers provided on Experts Exchange have been extremely helpful to me over the last few years. I wear a lot of hats - Developer, Database Administrator, Help Desk, etc., so I know a lot of things but not a lot about one thing. Experts Exchange gives me answers from people who do know a lot about one thing, in a easy to use platform." -Todd S.

You can NOT change this setting without superuser priviledges. If you arent a system admin, ask someoen who is to change it.
