Error Trapping with JScript and ASP

How does one instantiate error trapping (onerror) using JScript within ASP?

According to the Java Script book, you use:
window.onerror=handle_error();
or
self.onerror=handle_error();

But within ASP, this doesn't work.

in ASP if you are using VB Script then you should try something like this

Function MyFunc(objAnyObject)
  on error Resume Next
  objanyobject.open "Select * from anytable"
  if err.number > 0 then
     response.write "error opening table"
  End if

End Fucntion

Hi,

this code I got from the jscript reference in MSDN.

try
  x = y                                 // Cause an error.
catch(e){                               // Create local variable e.
  response.write(e)                  // Prints "[object Error]".
  response.write(e.number & 0xFFFF)  // Prints 5009.
  response.write(e.description)      // Prints "'y' is undefined".
}

There is an Error object in Jscript which works similer to Err object of vbScript. only difference is the way access the object.

That is exactly what I needed.  Thank you.

Apparently the most up-to-date JScript book I have isn't as up-to-date as it should be.  :)
