Toshiba Tecra Laptop Monitor problem

"The solutions and answers provided on Experts Exchange have been extremely helpful to me over the last few years. I wear a lot of hats - Developer, Database Administrator, Help Desk, etc., so I know a lot of things but not a lot about one thing. Experts Exchange gives me answers from people who do know a lot about one thing, in a easy to use platform." -Todd S.

See if your model is listed here.  They have a lot of info on laptops with Linux, including Tecras.

go to www.toshiba.com
search for linux
then there is a page with an x86config file that they suggest, worked for my portege.

the same page also has a link to the tuxtime utilies which allow power management stuff: real neat.
