Generic Modem drivers for Win95 ?

I have about 4 different 56k modems that I don't have the original driver disks/CD's for ! I can't be sure as to the exact make/model of these different modems and what software to use for them at this stage.
Does anyone know of some Generic modem drivers that will work in most circumstances, or am I stuck to the EXACT driver being required for a particular piece of (modem) hardware ???

you have two options,
1. use the generic drivers in win98 if the modem does get detected in win98 or win95 ie: 56k flex gen driver or 56k x2......ect
2. if the modem is not picked up then you need drivers to set the modem, ie: as in some lucent pci modems that make windows find a pci serial device port then you set it to the driver , then yes the driver will have to be used.

check out the main chips on the modem to see if it says rockwell or any brand name on it and note any numbers or model numbers on it and use
www.google.com to trace down the maker
by look for the info you got off the card
sorry thats all i can think of for now
