Check for the SelectionFormula property of the Crystal Report.
You can open a recordset and select or
remove the records you want and bind
the recordset to the Crystal report.

 Dim Rs as ADODB.RecordSet

 Set Rs = new ADODB.Recordset
 with Rs
    .CursorLocation = Client 'look up right value for this property
    .CursorType = Static
    .Open "Select * from X Where Y" ,Dbconnection
    .ActiveConnection = Nothing 'disconnected recordset
 End with
 MyCrystal.Openreport.database 3,Rs
