SMS (Short message service)

Does anybody have any source code or url links which explain the format of SMS messages sent directly to a message centre. I've seen software which sends SMS messages via a modem, but I'd rather control it myself.

I've searched the internet, but cant find any definition of the format.

"The solutions and answers provided on Experts Exchange have been extremely helpful to me over the last few years. I wear a lot of hats - Developer, Database Administrator, Help Desk, etc., so I know a lot of things but not a lot about one thing. Experts Exchange gives me answers from people who do know a lot about one thing, in a easy to use platform." -Todd S.

smegghead, I just did this myself before Christmas, there is information out there but it is not easy to find. However I do have the bones of an application which will send SMS to UK Cellnet phones, and should also do Vodafone as well. It can also send text messages to BT alphanumeric pagers. If you post your EMail address or send to me at I will send you the project as is. It will at least get you started.
