"The solutions and answers provided on Experts Exchange have been extremely helpful to me over the last few years. I wear a lot of hats - Developer, Database Administrator, Help Desk, etc., so I know a lot of things but not a lot about one thing. Use an Image, and point it to whatever image that has the shape you want the button to be.

Then use the Image1_Click() Event so when it is clicked it will do something.

Just make the background of the image the same color as the form background and it will look like a different shape.

I hope this helps.

There are various components available which give round buttons or other shapes, but if you want anything a little more interesting but less regular then as far as I am aware the easiest way is to design a bitmap to represent your button, in the up and down states and to place these on the form one in front of the other to simulate a button. If you wanted to re-use this then you may decide to create your own control in this way.
I believe the both previous answer are excellents.
