Deployment Problem

I am working with a vb program that used an Access 97 table.  I installed Office 2000 on my PC and converted the table to Access 2000.  I need to install this program on a PC that does not have Access 2000.  I selected the msjet40.dll but it will not register.  I had this same problem with my PC and that is why I ended up installing Access 2000.  I need to find out what dll's I need to package with the program.  Thanks in advance.

You must install Microsoft Data Access. MDAC 2.1

You can download the executable from the Micro$oft site.

Incorporate this in your setup program or instruct your users to run this before running yours.

When I try to run the program I receive an error code for missing a dll.  When I try to register the msjet40.dll I receive the error Load Library(c:\windows\system\msjet40.dll) failed. Get last error returns 0x00000485

(MDAC_TYPE.EXE will install Microsoft Data Access. This will include a multitude of files and DLLs required for data access. Including msjet40.dll)

You can download it from the microsoft site.

Thank you, but just running mdac_typ.exe did not do the trick.  Halapaya answered the question through my question VB6 and Access 2000.  Thanks anyway.

Try MDAC 2.5, and install on all machines that use your program.  I had the simular problem with Access 97 to Access 2000 files and it seemed to fix the problem.
