Set The Hostame Of a Workstation

Hi I have just received a Sun ULTRA 10
I want to know all the places I need to change the host name of the computer.

If you're talking about just a hostname, issueing a hostname -s <hostname> will change it.. Other areas include /etc/hostname.<ifname> where ifname is the name of the ethernet adapter (ifconfig -a will provide that name) and /etc/hosts

This is assuming you're not using an NIS environment or other naming solution.

man sysidtool says:
......     The machine's configuration information is  set  up  in  its
     /etc and /var files.

     /etc/passwd              password file. See passwd(4).
     /etc/shadow              shadow  password  file.  See   sha-

It's not clear if sysidtool or admintool will let you change the hostname.

sys-unconfig will remove all network configuration info (hostname, ip address etc.) to enable you to reenter it if you want to completely change the network config
