HP Laserjet 6L

I have a problems where if i print to the 6L it doesnt print out anything. The second print to the printer then forces out the first print. SOmetimes it will come up with printer not found and go offline although i may have printed something 5 mins earlier. I have a Bi-directional cable attached which has been replaced. The port is ECP and the latest driver has been installed. I have even removed the printer from WIndows and reinstalled it. IT is running on Windows 95 and the Self test page prints ok on the printer. I have changed the port in the bios but arent sure which is the perfect one to use. Used Bi-directional port originally but to no avail.

Try setting it to standard parallel port.  Also, try to install the PCL drivers instead of the regular drivers.  There are 2 different versions.

Tried that but still getting errors intermittantly.
OK.  Sorry for the lag.  My account died.  I had to create a different one.  Something about EE and Linuxcare (where I originally registered).  Oh well.

Hmm.  When you try to print and get errors, do you happen to notice whether or not the light on the printer is on?  I believe these printers have a built in sleep function, which can produce errors writing to port.
