3D blaster banshee

evening,

could anybody let me know if linux supports AGP slot cards. I have a 16Meg Creative 3D Blaster Banshee and I can only get it to run as vga at 640X480. I use redhat 6.0 bye the way.

Any ideas how to get it to run properly at say 24/32 bit colour at 800X600

Go on make my day.

Cheers

You'll want to upgrade to the latest version of xfree86.  Versions after 3.3.3 support the Banshee chipset quite well.  Go to http://www.xfree86.org/, and either download the .rpms or source, and install from then.  xf86setup should then detect and configure your banshee card quite well (I use a voodoo3, under xfree86 3.3.4, on a hacked up version of redhat 5.1).

:)  Let me know if you need more detail
