Sending Escape Sequence to printer

how can I send an escape sequence to a printer ({esc}r1).
I am using VB4 16 bit and win31.

OK, I think I need to use the ESCAPE API call, so how do I construct this? I have seen info about pre-defined escapes such as startdoc, enddoc etc, but not about "custom" escqpes.
