Api Call for Subst command?

Is there any way of subst:ing a directory to a drive using the Api or any other fairly simple way of doing this without using subst?

I wear a lot of hats...

"The solutions and answers provided on Experts Exchange have been extremely helpful to me over the last few years. I wear a lot of hats - Developer, Database Administrator, Help Desk, etc., so I know a lot of things but not a lot about one thing. Experts Exchange gives me answers from people who do know a lot about one thing, in a easy to use platform." -Todd S.

The API is called DefineDosDevice, but is only available under win98, winNT4 and win2000 - NOT under win95. So if you need this functionality under win95 as well, you have no other choice than starting "subst" as a child process (recommended in hidden state).

There is a TSubst component on my web site.  (It cheats a great deal really, but it DOES do the subst, even in NT.)
