I wear a lot of hats - Developer, Database Administrator, Help Desk, etc., so I know a lot of things but not a lot about one thing. Experts Exchange gives me answers from people who do know a lot about one thing, in a easy to use platform." -Todd S.

wwz, Netscape 4.7 is different from older version. It has changed its programs hierarchy and enabled the different users profile with discrete user sub-folders controlled by a profile manager.

You have to check that. Install Netscape ver4.70. Once you've started, you should have to make an initial profile for the first user.

If you have not set that up, go to the start-programs-Netscape communicator-Utilities -User Profile manager.

Click into this folder, click [Add] button to add new users (first and then later additional users).

Within that user profile, a directory of that profile will be made including email account, cache directory, bookmarks folder etc.
E.g. Profile for First User named as " wwz1" has been created.

A "C:\Program Files\Netscape\Users\wwz1" folder will be created.

Default bookmark.htm for "wwz1" will be under C:\Program Files\Netscape\Users\wwz1

You can setup another new users "wwz2" by the User profile manager as described above.

Default bookmark.htm for "wwz2" will be under C:\Program Files\Netscape\Users\wwz2

Logon the user (e.g. wwz1) via profile manager as Netscape v4.7 is started. Import your previous bookmarks of older version of Netscape or of IE5. Or you can backup one copy of the user’s default bookmark.htm in C:\Program Files\Netscape\Users\wwz1. Open the user’s default “bookmark.htm”. Paste your old bookmark content into this user’s default “bookmark.htm”.

Do it for other users in their user’s “bookmark.htm”.
Let me know if it worked.

Rock Wolf

Good questions.

Turns out it was a physical problem.  I use a Logitech Trackman Marbel FX.  Clicking the button did not work.  Clicking the button, and moving the ball a little bit in any direction made it work.  Dont ask me why, but I can live with it.

I know it is stupid to move the ball.  But that is what makes it work.

Your answer is acceptable, submit it as final so I can sign off this question.

Thank You
