managing swap file

I noticed that .swp file changes all the time. I heard that set this file to fixed figure will increase performance. How do I do that?

"The solutions and answers provided on Experts Exchange have been extremely helpful to me over the last few years. I wear a lot of hats - Developer, Database Administrator, Help Desk, etc., so I know a lot of things but not a lot about one thing. Experts Exchange gives me answers from people who do know a lot about one thing, in a easy to use platform." -Todd S.

Goto system properties under control panel, select preformance and then click on virtual memory. Now you will need to decide how much MB you want to be used for swap file. I believe the more value, the better. Let's say you go for 100mbs. Click on let specify my own memory settings and select the drive you want your swap file to be in. Put in 100 in the minimum and maximum box, click ok. you'll have to reboot your system.
good luck
