SB Live driver and EMM386

When i install me y s/card drivers I get an error saying that it cannot load SB16 Emulation drivers in autoexec.bat. When I make any change to autoexec.bat it puts it back to what it was before and I cannot seem to get EMM386 to load.

I wear a lot of hats - Developer, Database Administrator, Help Desk, etc., so I know a lot of things but not a lot about one thing. Experts Exchange gives me answers from people who do know a lot about one thing, in a easy to use platform." -Todd S.

Why not upgrade to live ware 3.0? It doesnt use the autoexec at all.

Anyway, do you NEED the emulation? it is only any use if you run DOS programs in a DOS window (or DOS mode).

Yeah, somewhere in the control panel for the Live! there is a checkbox for SB16 emulation. Uncheck that. Otherwise it will re-add those lines on every startup. I do no tknow exactly where, since that checkbox is no longer present in Liveware 3.0.

To load emm386 you need himem.sys loaded and that steals performance.
