using parallel port in EPP mode

My system is a mandrake 6.0 distribution. Is it possible to use the parallel port in EPP mode : input and outpout in 8,16,32 bits
How can I access to the mode and use it ?

Early on, I remember that EPP support in the pp driver was not great. I think it had some major renovations and is now considered quite robust based on a quick check of current discussions on the driver.
