Microsoft has an example of doing FTP using the WININET.DLL API up on their site.  Just go there and search for VBFTP to find the sample.

There are a couple of Active-X controls, but for some reason they are very expensive to purchase, and one of them even has a distribution fee (?!).  But, they are very good.  There are also a handful of freeware or shareware ones about.

I'd at least look at Microsoft's example, and if you can't find it, or can't make sense out of it, post your e-mail address and I can send a sample of it.
