if ur VB program use ADO, that means you have to install ADO engine in every target machine, which ur application installs. installsheild dose not take everything and make the setup for you[latest versions might be diong it]

but what you can do is.. get the mdac_typ.exe from microsoft [file will be like 6MB] which installs latest ADO engine and all the required files. so.. you can download that file and include in ur setup. when the setup installs, before it installs ur program let it call the mdac_typ.exe in silent mode, so that will takecare of ADO instalation automaticaly. once it is finished instlall sheild will start installing ur application.

then if u run ur application, it will work because you have installed ADO through mdac_typ.exe.

if u need more help mail to moditha@yahoo.com

Also, if you are deploying on Win9x, you need to install DCOM98.exe before MDAC_TYP.exe. You can find it at http://www.microsoft.com/com/dcom/dcom98/dcom1_3.asp

You may want to just include the DCOM98 or MDAC files in your setup.  This way they will be installed/ran the same time you install your application.

for bhimmerick: If you include DCOM98.exe in your setup, it won't be installed automatically!!!
