New hard drive for my computer.
I have a Western Digital Eide hard drive Ultra ATA 33, 52,000rpm in my computer now. I purchased a new Western Digital Expert Ultra ATA 66, 72,000rpm to replace my old one with. The question I have is: What is the easiest way for me to take all my data from my old hard drive and put it on my new hard drive? I will not be using the old hard drive in this computer after installing the new one. I will be replacing my old motherboard with a Microstar MS-6167 to support the ATA-66. I will award an additional 100 points if I get a good step by step reply. I,m new at upgrading.
The easiest way is to use software called DriveImage made by www.powerquest.com. It copies everything easily, but costs around $30. You can do it yourself for free, but there are many steps to the procedure and it takes a little longer. Post a comment if you want do-it-yourself instructions.
