advise on installing Iomega zip

Running win95. want to install 100Mb external parallel port zip
drive. Is the power cable plugged in the tower? How do I let
the system know it is there? Install software or driver. If I am
eventually successful with the install, Iam worried about
moving folders and zip files to the disks. How will this effect
the registry,if at all? I would like a list of steps to follow.

list of steps:

Turn off the computer

Attach the drive

Turn on the computer and let it detect the drive

When it prompts you for the drivers, insert the manufacturers disk and point it to the proper place.

After that, install the disk utilities from the manufacturers disk

there you go

No, this will be plugged into the wall/surge protector.

If you simply attach the drive and reboot, Windows will detect the drive and ask for the drivers.

If you are only moving document files or setup/install programs, there will be no effect on the registry.  If you move programs that have been installed, this will be a problem and I would not recommend it.

it will attach to the parallel printer port

if you have a printer, it will attach to the other port on the back of the drive
