Power?

I have a PowerBook G3--lately I have had problems with the AC Power Adapter.
The battery is not charged when the power adapter is plugged in and the Powerbook does not operate on the power adapter alone.  I did reset the Powerbook with the shift-fn-ctrl + power key and the power came back, but now I have a dead battery!

There was at one time an issue with powerbook batteries not charging. The solution was to download Battery Reset from http://asu.info.apple.com/swupdates.nsf/artnum/n11542 . Another suggested apple solution was to remove the battery and reinsert it until it does show up and begin charging. They said this could take as many as 11 times. The initial problem was caused by the battery being run too low to the point where it had NO charge left. It then didnt have enough power to power itself and make itself recognized to the powerbook.

The Powerbook G3 does not operate with the battery out and the poweradapter plugged in.  So I don't know there is a problem with the power adapter or the plug in the back of the laptop.

Ahh i c now...well..sounds like you have a busted power adapter. Never heard of them going bad but i have heard of the plug in the back of powerbooks being damaged by tweaking.
