Outlook & Forms...

Hi,
We use Oulook97/98 and Exchange 5.5. I am working on something
new for me... the forms.

I did a couple of tests. I have created a form "Test_form" message class   "IPM;Note", published and saved it.
My form is a resized text zone plus 2 check boxes...

I can use this form to write a message, check a box and send this form,  but
The recipient gets only a standard message window with the text  I have sent  (no more check boxes).
More strange (I guess) He can get the form if he forwards my mail...

Sure !! there is something I missundersood.

                                                  Thanx a lot,
                                                  WW

He needs to have the form description before he can see the modified form.

There are two ways to accomplished this.

--------

1.  When you are designing the form, there is a Properties Tab.  On this Tab is a Checkbox labeled:
    Send form definition with item

Check this box before you publish the form.  Now when you send the form to anyone they will be able to use the modified form.  When they open the item they will get a Macro Warning dialog box.  They will need to enable the macros to have the form work properly.

--------

2.  To avoid getting the Macro dialog box, do a File > Save As.  Choose Outlook Template as the type.  Send this Template to other users.  Have them publish the Template.

    A.  Double-click on the attached Template to open it.
    B.  Under either File or Tools in the item, is an option to publish the form (I have OL2K, can't remember exactly how OL 97/98 was setup).

---------

You could also publish the form to an organizational form area, but I don't know all the particulars for that.

Also be careful of one-offing the form.  See

http://support.microsoft.com/support/kb/articles/Q182/3/76.ASP

and

http://support.microsoft.com/support/kb/articles/Q181/2/66.ASP

for more information on one-offed forms.

I have already checked this box.
Here is step by step what I did from OL97 :
- File/New message
- Tools/Create outlook form
- I have resized the text message zone
- Add a check box on the left side of the window
- Checked the option "Send form definition with item..."
- File/Publish the form as...
     Name "Form1"
Pubish in... "Public folder" (specific folder called 'Plaisir')
- File/Save as... in my local personal server.
- Then I close the window... but it asks "Do you want to save.."
  I already did it !!
- Back to OL main window, I click on Plaisir (Public folder)
- Click on Message (Action in US version ?)
- Choose" New -Form1"
I can see my form with a small test erea and the check box
- I write something in the text zone, check the box and send it
  to myself
- I open the received mail.... and the only thing I can see is a
NORMAL message window with the text I have put before in the
small text zone. No more check box.

What's wrong ??????????
In the same time I am going to have a look on the sites you
mentionned.

Thanx
