HP Desk Jet 400

My printer is not turning on when I push the power button. The printer is 2 years old with minimal printing usage.  Could the problem be the A/C adapter. Anyone know the life expectancy of this kind of printer? Thanks

1. Have you tried different outlets ?
2. Is it or has it been in powerstrip ?
3. Try putting the unit direct to wall
4.  make sure wall outlet works
5. Try leaving unit off for 10 - 20 minutes disconnect parallel cable from it, see if it will power back up after 10 - 20 minutes.

Problem could very well be ac adapter but if you are not an electrician I would NOT try taking a volt meter to it.

If you have another adapter available I would try that too also make sure the actual port on the back of the printer that the power adapter goes into is not loose this is a common problem if you are using the round connector (not the powercord like your tower uses)If that is loose the connector is most likely broken in the printer...
