Just create a script in the directoy, named index.cgi:

#!/usr/bin/perl
print <<EOT;
Content-type: text/html

<html>
<body>
Sorry - browsing not allowed
</body>
</html>
EOT
exit;

Actually, you probably can just make an index.html file with the same contents.

Turn Read property check box off, at your Internet Server application, for example at www.mydomain.com/cgi-bin alias unchech Read, and check execute

You only need (Read) access for HTML pages images, downloadable files and so on, but never use it for directory which contains CGI-BIN, Databases used by CGI or any other sensitive data
