or while you were setting the setup-options

btw: look at the cd maybe it's only dirty

normally crc error means that a kind of zip file is corrupt
but when you are installing from the cd that should not occur

It's during installation

The CRC is a redudancy check.  This error is telling you that file that is being uncompressed is corrupted.  CRC errors use to be common error in the 386/486 Erra.

If your trying to unzip the file, try zipfix, that can be obtained from www.winzip.com

If it's during the installation, clean your cd, or goto a windows 95 computer and find the file cdfs.vxd in the c:\windows\system\iosubsys dir, and copy it to your computer, and don't forget to overwrite the file.  Should be 512k or close to that.

!! REMEMBER !! This file is hidden, so don't freak out if your can't find it right away.

Btw. CDFS=CDROM FILE SYSTEM.  The one that is in windows 95 is better then the on in windows 98.  That is if your running windows 98.

I'm using win 98. The cdfs.vxd file in win 95 is same in win 98 [58kb]. Nothing to be overwrite!

The crc error still comes up.....! during installation

try to copy the files of the cd to your hd with the explorer
or something
maybe there is a problem with the cd (even if you don't see
anything your cdrom may not be able to read part of the cd)

open up your autoexec.bat file in your c:\ directory and add the line

VERIFY ON

I have seen this work when CDs couldn't be read properly and I got the CRC message.

Let me know if it works.

Basically, VERIFY ON will check to make sure the file is opened properly, and if not will attempt to reopen it again.

I've done all these. The error still same

The only other answer is that you've got a borderline CD, and your drive can't handle it.  Take the CD back and exchange it for another.

Oh, you have to reboot after adding VERIFY ON to your autoexec.bat file.  I assume you did reboot after modifying....

I'd reboot after that. The others games in the CD run well except this.

Did you get it from a twilight cd or something, because not all the games on twilight cd's work. you should just try to download it from an internetsite or something
